natural dye-sasters
26 July 2010

All these fabrics came out of the jars that had been left in a sunny window for three July weeks. The three on left are the results of raspberries and red wine. (the orange piece used to be yellow cotton velveteen) The two small green ones were coloured with onion skins and the final four are from the day lily jars.

22 July 2010

Tattered roses are all the rage! My grandmother taught me how to make these 30 years ago using wide ribbon and a needle and thread. If you wanna stitch them, just replace the glue spots with a stitch or two. If you wanna make some quick roses – use Hot Glue and Hot Glue Gun Helpers! (shipping to stores soon!!!!!) The roses can be used to embellish just about anything! Jewelry, headbands, purses, gifts, party favors.
