I want to shout out a HUGE thank you to Kathy and Beatrice for hosting a fantastic, relaxing, stitchy long weekend!  I took all of my running/walking gear with me and didn’t pull it out once!  I think I really needed that, I have been pushing myself pretty hard lately! A Stitchy Update
3 September 2010

Greetings one and all, sorry its been so long since my last update (well long for me at least).  Last week turned out to be a busy and exhausting week (I’ve gone into more detail on it here)!  This week as also been busy thus I’ve not stitched as much as I would like!  Sometimes when I barely get to stitch I wonder if that’s why I’m not feeling rested and happy? Free Candlewicking Pumpkin Motif
1 September 2010

I was shopping today in my local mercantile (actually Wal-mart, but mercantile reminds me of Little House on the Prairie and I am being nostalgic today.) They had a huge aisle of Halloween candy already set up. The one that caught my eye was this huge brain-shaped bubble gum blob – gross! I passed two girls as I exited the aisle on my way to the snack aisle – I was on a quest for almonds. I am particularly fond of the habenero flavored ones right now.

27 August 2010

I was hoping to have the “Earth” section of Art Deco Spirits finished this week but it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen.  Life got busy this week and I can probably count the number of hours I’ve found to stitch on one hand.  I really only have myself to blame I got myself busy, probably worked out/ran a little too much.  I’m feeling a bit burnt out, and just need to try to slow down and

Flowers are blooming all around – most of them in my little flower bed are from weeds right now, but I still enjoy looking out at them. It has been super hot lately at my house, but it has still been raining, so the grass and weeds have been taking off

Cross Stitch Tips for Beginners
23 August 2010

StillWater2 shared the following tip for beginning stitchers recently: When I first started stitching, I had problems with what to do with thread ends on the back of my projects. I found the easiest way to fix this was to use the smallest crochet hook I could find and weave those ends under the backs of the stitches and then trim off the tiny ends that are left.
